- The blade is made of modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel: developed for Opinel, it is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40% which allows for a very satisfactory edge without being susceptible to corrosion. Hardness of the blade 57-58 HRC
- Traditional Opinel blade called Yatagan blade: its shape is inspired by a Turkish sword, the point raised. The blade is ground according to an exclusive bomb profile which guarantees the robustness of the blade and allows efficient refinements
- Beech wood handle : the most used wood for the manufacturing of Opinel handles. Produced in France, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. It has a uniform appearance and its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of many small dark lines. The handle is varnished to be better protected against moisture and dirt.

- Safety ring : invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring equips all closing knives from N06 on. Cut in stainless steel, the Virobloc is made of two parts : a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe to use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe to carry).
