Sleeping in the middle of nature is an experience that allows you to reconnect with yourself. But bivouacking is also synonymous with freedom, as you can stop and sleep anywhere, anytime. Ekosport has all the bivouac and camping equipment you need for an unforgettable experience, without compromising on comfort, safety or hygiene: bivouac tents, sleeping bags, bivouac mattresses, pillows, gas stoves, camping pots and pans and hygiene accessories.
The key to a successful bivouac is to plan ahead. In most cases, you won't have any shops or facilities nearby to provide you with supplies. So having the right equipment is essential. First of all, you need to choose a good trekking bag with enough capacity to carry all your bivouac equipment. The challenge is not to overload it and to avoid carrying more than 20% of your own weight. So it seems essential to use light, functional bivouac equipment. If you're going with several people, you can divide the weight between the different porters and pool some equipment (kitchen accessories, tent, orienteering equipment). When preparing your bivouac rucksack, think about all the safety and orientation accessories (headlamp, camping lamp, first aid kit, orientation equipment), as well as hygiene accessories and products (camping towel, soap, pocket solar shower).
The main reason for a bivouac is to be able to stop whenever and wherever you want during a multi-day itinerant trek. A trek requires you to be in top physical and mental shape. So it's essential to do everything you can to get a good night's sleep. The first thing you need is a light tent, shelter or travel hammock to isolate you from the ground, shelter you from the damp and protect you from insects. To optimise the lifespan of your tent, it's best to equip it with a tent mat. To avoid sleeping on uneven ground, there are thin but effective hiking mats. If the nights are cool, remember to take a sleeping bag (in midsummer, on the plains, a meat bag or sleeping bag sheet may suffice). The last item to complete your bedding is a travel pillow. For bivouacs in hot countries, or for sleeping in a hammock, don't forget the mosquito net!
After a long day's walking, a good hot meal is ideal to regain your strength. When you wake up in the morning, a hot coffee will give you the energy you need to pack up your bivouac and get back on the road. Just because you're a long way from civilisation doesn't mean you can't indulge in a little comfort. That's why brands design lightweight, compact bivvy stoves. The most common are gas stoves, but there are also multi-fuel stoves that run on oil, petrol or fuel. These are often lighter than their gas counterparts. When it comes to cooking, don't forget to bring camping crockery and cutlery: cooking pots, food tins, cutlery and crockery. If you prefer camping to bivouacking, we also offer camping tables and chairs.
