The VIPEC EVO 12 110 MM from Fritschi is a touring ski binding that returns this year even more impressive. Its ease of fit and safety are vastly improved to allow freeriders to concentrate on having fun.
The changes have been made to the bump stop and heel piece. Thanks to the fixed stopand a visual indication, the toe of the shoe finds its optimum fitting position naturally . A light touch is all it takes for the system to close, thanks to theprecise engagement of the pin levers in the inserts. In this way, the movement is similar to that of putting on an alpine ski binding.
The rigid non-rotating strap increases accuracy and maneuverability. Unlike other bindings with inserts, the flow of forces generated during cornering is not interrupted. The heel retain its lateral stability at all times.
From a safety point of view, the risks are minimised in the event of a forward fall, since the fastening allows immediate release of the boot in the event of a frontal release.
On the stop, the two inserts are fixed to a carriage running through the fixture. This can slide sideways on either side of the frame, but is held in place by a spring. This gives a lateral release elasticity of 13mm before the shoe is released by opening the pins to the DIN value set on the stop.
This binding is fitted with 2 climbing wedges and delivered in this version with a 110mm wide ski stop.
