Multifunctional, the CRIC developed by Climbing Technology is a rope clamp with pulley that proves very useful for mountaineering, rescue and rope access work.
Robust, functional and intuitive, this rope clamp can be used in four different ways: as an ascender, as a pulley, as a rope clamp/pulley or as a recovery pulley. This versatile, compact and easy-to-use model minimizes the time, material and space required by climbers and rope access workers. In ascender mode, it can be used to ascend a rope in compliance with EN 567 / EN 12841-B, while in pulley mode, it can be used as a simple pulley for lifting or moving a load in compliance with EN 12278.
This model also features an ergonomic opening by means of an intuitive knob for quick installation on the rope in the desired mode, even when wearing gloves.

- Ra integrated ball bearing: can be used as a direct link to facilitate rope retrieval or to lift a person without the need for additional connectors (blocker/pulley mode).
- Allows for direct load retrieval, hoist creation and lifting or self-lifting of a person, e.g. in the event of a fall into a crevasse (retrieval pulley mode).
- In pulley mode, the rope is free to run in both directions, whereas in recovery pulley mode, it is free to run in one direction and locks in the opposite direction.
- In recovery pulley mode: the recovered load can be lowered by means of the cord connected to the device's cam.
- Ergonomic opening by means of an intuitive button: enables rapid installation on the rope in the desired mode, even when wearing gloves or in unfavorable conditions
- Slotted steel cam protects the rope from wear but is just as effective at locking it in place. The cam also features two slots to reduce mud accumulation and maintain an effective grip on the rope in all conditions (muddy rope, freezing, etc.).
