Bataleon 's THUNDERSTORM is a snowboard designed for freeride. It floats better than other brands' powder boards, while retaining an incredible edge for carving on the slopes.
Triple Base Technology is brilliant. The raised lateral zones at the widest points of the board make a lot of sense. The board turns smoother and faster, which helps when you're not completely clean on landing. SideKick technology greatly increases lateral base lift at the widest points of the nose and tail. SuperTubes are hollow carbon core enhancements that are inserted into the core in 3 different configurations. Hollow carbon tubes significantly increase the pop of the wood core and reduce weight. The boards are constructed with a layer of fiberglass above and below the wood core.

- Triple Base Shape Form: positive camber combines raised contact points with the widest parts of the board. The central base has no overhang between or under the bindings to create a stable control surface underfoot. The sidewalls rise gradually from the bindings to the tip transitions. This gradual elevation creates a smooth transfer zone for cornering and butting. The raised contact points make the board much less prone to edge errors. Finally, the Side Kick Tip's elevation increases dramatically at the ends of the effective edge. As a result, the sides of the board resemble a boat's hull, creating a gliding surface with unrestricted floatation in powder, and enabling more incisive riding in difficult terrain.
- Light core: 50% paulownia and 50% poplar wood, solid and lightweight

- Tri-Ax laminate: Tri-ax laminates on and under the wood core are made of layers of fiberglass oriented in 3 directions (2 45s towards the edges and the 3rd along the board). This increases the board's rigidity and stability, for a more precise ride.
- Carbon Stringers: Carbon is a very light, highly responsive material. It gives the board plenty of pop, more precision, greater responsiveness and absorbs vibrations. It can be used in a variety of ways to refine a board's character
