Brand History

The village of Bormio in northern Italy has long been linked with winter sports and with alpine skiing in particular. It was there in 1946 that Giacomo Trabucchi first made a pair of solid wooden skis and created the company that he named after himself. Over the following years Skitrab has gone from strength to strength. The company has built upon local knowledge and enthusiasm with ongoing research and innovation in order to keep one step ahead of the competition.

The company's first skis were made from a solid piece of wood. The company's latest skis have been made from materials - and using techniques - imported from the aerospace industry and 14 different layers are now combined to make each ski. However, innovation does not begin and end with making the products themselves. Skitrab have also developed cutting-edge testing and quality assurance processes to ensure that every ski is the very best it can be.
