As manager of sports events, Fabio Crestani manufactured equipment for maintenance of sports facilities and tennis courts under the JET brand. He developed a prototype designed for ski enthusiasts, so they could train during summer on grass. Ski Skett was officially incorporated in 1973 and started producing skis for use on grass and cross country. The first models had a SNODATO frame included, which enabled alternate strides without lift. Although the models still used tires, they did not lift off the ground. The first roller to go into mass production was called Ski Skett/F and represented the beginning of roller skis under Ski Skett brand. A prototype consisting of three large tires and an iron frame evolved into today's Ski Skett equipment.
Ski Skett stands by its values of innovation and cutting-edge technology. Ski Skett roller skis are used by the world's top champions, bringing awareness to the brand's top quality and performance standards. Ski Skett prides itself for being completely customer focused and has developed, under the Crestani Sport patent, a revolutionary binding system which allows the use of ski rollers with normal sports shoes, without any additional equipment. Another novelty brought to the market by Ski Skett is the STOP and GO brake, which is highly effective and secure. Ski Skett is continuously innovating and developing ways to make ski rolling more secure and enjoyable for its customers. Ski Skett's team is committed to diligent research and the use of high-end materials to obtain the best equipment for its clients. The company is a leader by looking ahead and being disruptive.
There's a difference between roller ski models for racing and training. Racing models have narrow wheels with a diameter of around 100 mm guaranteeing minimum resistance. The frame is built to maximize stride frequency and the bindings are placed further forward from the centre. Ski Skett's top model for skating racing is Ski Skett FAST SKATE, which comes in various options, including different bearings, wheel specifications which can be chosen at the user's discretion. Racing using the classical technique is fit for the FAST CLASSIC 3 model. Training ski models or XC Style Models have wheels made of polyurethane or rubber. The SPORT CLASSIC line includes Ski Skett SPORT CLASSIC 3 (three-wheel models) and SPORT CLASSIC 2 (two-wheel models). The elite CLASSIC line includes Ski Skett ELITE CLASSIC ALU. Ski Skett also provides off-road roller skis with inflatable wheels, such as the CROSS CLASSIC 3 models. The company delivers various options for each line of products, catering to all client's requirements.
