In 1927, the Norwegian engineer, industrialist and inventor, Bror With, created the very first split toe binding. Taking them to a race, he attracted the attention of the Crown Prince Olav, who was curious as to what they were. The inventor replied that they were just a couple of rat traps, picked up from a hardware store. The name Rottefella was established, as rotte means rat in Norwegian. Since that date, the company has secured its place in the market, crafting superior bindings for Telemark and Nordic skiing.
Rottefella pride themselves on constantly refining and reinventing their bindings, using all the knowledge and insight garnered from their Norwegian heritage. Rottefella bindings are created using cutting-edge technology and have an adjustable system to personalise the whole skiing experience. Innovations include a built-in thermostat for precision waxing and a useful LED light. Rottafella bindings facilitate exceptional transmission of power from boot to ski for improved performance and stability.
The Rottefella Accelerator range uses the highest quality of materials to create a top-level binding, particularly suitable for competitive skiers, and also available in an ultra-lightweight junior size. Nordic and off-trail skiers will enjoy the easy to use Back Country range, ideal for uneven terrain and variable snow conditions.
