Origin of the Racer brand

The Racer brand first came into existence in 1927. From the company's base high in the French Alps, Racer's technical advisors concentrated their efforts on developing their ranges of motorcycle and skiing apparel to achieve maximum performance without sacrificing warmth or comfort. Today, Racer ski clothes and clothing accessories are to be seen everywhere on the slopes and are worn by men, women and juniors regardless of their level of ability. From the earliest days in the company's home base in Vendôme, France, the Racer brand has been synonymous with innovation and quality. Even today, despite enormous technological advances, some of Racer's range of gloves and mittens can take as long as 80 hours to manufacture a single pair. This is because Racer gloves require precision workmanship and have a tolerance measurement of less than half a millimetre. Every Racer product is extensively tested before release and every single glove is individually ironed to ensure a quality finish. Using only the best of leather and fabrics, gloves are laser-cut for a precise fit and then hand-stitched by experienced craftsmen.
