How Jones was formed

The company's founder, Jeremy Jones, formed it in 2009 after spending more than three decades of his life on the mountains as a snowboarder himself. Though largely headquartered in California, the company's alpine pedigree has not wavered and it stands out as a brand with an understanding of what it makes.

Jones's strengths

Safety-conscious

Jeremy Jones himself has a punctual but full guide to backcountry safety. The company is aware of what causes avalanches, what you need to pack to stay safe, and what a serious athlete needs to do to live a good, long time. This is reflected even in the designs of their products, which are well-made and often include safety features that no one will sensibly want to turn down.

Eco-friendly construction

Jones has a commitment to helping protect the planet everyone snowboards on, and to that end it has seized upon more advanced ecotech to reduce its footprint. Jones furthered its commitment by joining 1% For The Planet, an organization that promises to donate that much of its profits to non-profits working on helping the environment.

Jones's best sellers

Snowboards

Jones offers snowboards for men, women and youths. These snowboards offer a variety of cool-looking decals, mostly centred around the company's serious, mountainous image but with a few exceptions for those who want to enjoy the performance the company's boards provide. And they do: with ergonomic designs pushed forward by the need for more eco-friendliness and greater customer appeal, these snowboards are pretty fast if you pick the right one for you. They naturally offer all of the key safety features that a snowboard should have, meaning that a Jones snowboard for a youth is a great first choice, even if they're just a beginner.

Splitboards

There's a lot to like about splitboards: they're nearly mandatory for backcountry snowboarding, because without a lift system, you need some way to get up there before you ride down, and being able to climb as if you're wearing skis makes that a lot easier. Because Jones pays attention to the requirements of backcountry skiing, their splitboards are made with safe ascents in mind, and they help the wearer to get to the point they want to with both speed and grace.
