The Origin of the Elan Brand

Some brands have a truly unique starting point and Elan is one of those brands. It came to be during the Second World War when a dozen or so engineers and craftspeople got together to start making lightweight wooden skis for use by the Allied troops. After the war, they kept making skis and it was not long before they were exporting their products to the United States. Then, in the 50s and 60s, they started to expand their list of products. Before long skis were joined by snowshoes and then canoes and then much more. By the 1980s, Elan had gained international recognition for the quality of their products and professional athletes everywhere were using their gear.

The Strength of the Elan Brand

The Development Department

Every time the brand designs a new pair of skis it takes into account the extreme conditions and challenges that face the skier. In order to mitigate these, Elan works to build their skis from the lightest and most reliable materials that are capable of withstanding the toughest challenges. With each new product that Elan releases, the standards are set that much higher. The development department has been present ever since the early days of the brand and has been entirely dedicated to creating ever more advanced designs.

Quality Construction

The engineers that helped to found Elan also participated in revolutionising the construction of the ski. Their knowledge helped redefine ski construction to make it much more flexible and shock resistant. This same attitude has been carried forward and now they are constantly searching for ways to improve every single detail.

Top Elan Products

The Spectrum Range

Spectrum is Elan's top product range. These skis are constructed from a range of materials that includes aluminium which grants them incredible lightness. The construction of these skis is held to the highest quality and they are known for being extremely responsive, an attribute appreciated by both professionals and enthusiasts.

The Alaska Range

The Alaska range may be Elan's second most popular skis but it is every bit as good as the Spectrum range. These skis were made to be as light as possible while withstanding the harshest conditions available. They provide excellent flotation, stability and power transmission.
