In the Freerando range, the KINGPIN 10 binding has revolutionized insert bindings and touring since 2015
Light and comfortable on the way up, powerful and precise on the way down, it can be mounted on skis from 80 to 100 mm with its 100 mm ski stop. This binding is aimed at avid skiers of virgin slopes, for whom downhill performance is paramount. Its significant weight (730g with brake) makes it as effective on the ascent as it is on the downward slopes.
This Freerando binding features an unusual construction: it is the only insert binding to be DIN ISO 13992: 2007 certified by the TUV (German safety testing organization). This is thanks to years of research and innovation at MARKER to reach an unprecedented level of performance. The system developed is actually completely different to models already on the market since it consists of an insert stop and an innovative heel (inspired by alpine binding stops).
Unlike traditional insert bindings, the innovative construction of the MARKER KINGPIN 10 offers an ideal power transmission. Its heel offers broad contact points for maximum contact with the boot in order to avoid loss of energy on turns. The baseplate is widened to provide additional support and even more precision.
The stop of the KINGPIN 10, meanwhile, provides excellent energy absorption, powerful turning and maximum toe precision with six integrated springs in high quality steel. In addition, thanks to this stop, the release force is greater than a traditional binding to ensure impeccable safety.
Easy to use, the KINGPIN 10 switches easily from skiing mode to touring mode with a quick and easy movement. You can also adjust the boot guide points individually for more comfortable coupling.
